While studying at FIAT for a full-year programme, under current rules, you are eligible to work:

- Minimum wage from April 2026 is $23.95/hour, and the training wage is $19.16/hour.

We actively assist students in job search and placement. So far, nearly all of our students are employed in relevant jobs. The major sectors are: Nursery/Greenhouses, Garden centres and plant retailing, Landscaping, Commercial growers (vegetables, cut flowers etc.), Orchards (apple, kiwifruit etc.), Greenkeepers (golf courses, parks, garden maintenance), Revegetation projects (under the Govt one billion tree initiative), and Start your own business: can start small and grow big.
