NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE IN HORTICULTURE PRODUCTION Level 4 (ONE-YEAR)

DURATION

ONE YEAR: Forty weeks (Four quarters of 10 weeks each)

TIME REQUIRED

Three days (20 hours) on-site, and 13 hours of directed self-study/week which includes 5-8 hours of workplace experience

First week of January, April, July, and October each year

Overview of programmes:

ENTRY CRITERIA for international students: Applicants must:
  • Be 18 years of age or above
  • Have completed NCEA L2 or Senior Secondary or equivalent/above
  • English language competence: IELTS 5.5 no band score less than 5, or NZCEL L3 (Applied), PToE 42 (Academic) with no score less than 36 or equivalent.  Read more at www.nzqa.govt.nz
  • Be physically fit to complete practical aspects of the course
  • Comply with the NZ Immigration requirements for student visa.
WORK RIGHTS

Students are eligible for 20 hours/week work rights during study and full-time during statutory holidays. Please check up with Immigration NZ or your consultant for the latest position. After completion the students can apply for Accredited Employer Work Visa (3-5 years) with a suitable job offer.
