New Zealand Diploma In Horticulture Production Level 5 (Two-year)

Duration
Four Semesters of 20 weeks each, spread over 2 years
Time Required:
Three days (20 hours) on site & 12 hours home learning per week..
Start Dates
Four intakes in first week of January, April, July and October each year.

Credits 250 (Specializing in Nursery Production strand):
Applications:
Eight weeks before start date for students from overseas.
Two-three weeks before start for local entry.
Fee
International Students: First year: Tuition fee: NZ$ 17,500/ Second Year NZ$ 17,500. Domestic Students: to be advised to be deposited directly into NZ Public Trust account. Fully refundable if student is unable to join the study course.

Entry Criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or above
- Have completed secondary education (NCEA Level 2 OR equivalent)
- Have English language competence: IELTS (Academic) 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 OR equivalent as approved by NZQA.
- Be physically fit to complete practical aspects of the course (About 60-65% of the programme will involve field work)
- Be available for an interview (face-to-face or by skype).
Visa Eligibility & Work Rights:
Student visa allows students to work for 20 hours/week when classes are in session and full-time in scheduled vacations. After successful completion, new students are eligible for a one year ‘Post study work visa (Open), which can be converted to a ‘Post study work visa (Employer assisted)’ for two years with suitable job offer. During this period, graduates can work full time. Currently, this qualification is included in immediate skill shortage category. Please check visa conditions in your passport.
